Canada Handyman is seeking an Electrician who's not only skilled but also detail-oriented and passionate about keeping homes and businesses safe and functional. You'll handle everything from service calls to small-scale installations across a variety of settings. The role of an electrician at our company is straightforward: you'll ensure all electrical systems function as intended and comply with provincial codes.
As a member of our service team, you'll be the face of our company, so we need someone who can perform well in a customer service role. You'll troubleshoot a range of electrical issues, explain them to clients in a way they can understand, and ensure every job is done right the first time. If you're a dedicated tradesperson who loves helping people care for their properties and isn't afraid to get the job done, we'd love to hear from you.

-
Lighting Up the Place: We're talking ceiling fans, recessed lighting, chandeliers - you name it. You'll be installing various fixtures and ensuring they're safe and working as intended.
-
Bringing Systems Up to Date: For electrical systems, we want the best. That means upgrading service panels, installing GFCIs and AFCIs, and ensuring all wiring is up to date.
-
Appliance Wiring: You'll ensure all major appliances in a home are wired safely and properly, and that the HVAC system is operating as intended.
-
Safety First: You'll be monitoring for potential hazards and developing proactive solutions to prevent them from becoming major problems.
-
Smart Home Tech: You'll be installing all sorts of smart home devices - everything from video doorbells to smart thermostats and integrated smoke detectors.
Qualifications We're Looking For
We need someone with the technical know-how to do the job and the customer service skills to back it up.
-
Certification: You need to be a licensed electrician with a Journeyman or Red Seal certification from the provincial regulatory body.
-
Trade Experience: We're looking for someone with at least 4-5 years of experience in residential or commercial electrical service, maintenance, and repair.
-
Code Knowledge: You must have a thorough understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable provincial amendments.
-
Safety Above All Else: We need someone who's absolutely committed to safety protocols and can work safely in a wide range of environments.
-
Talking to Clients: Being able to explain electrical issues and project requirements to our clients is key, so you need to communicate clearly and professionally.
-
Requirements: A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a full set of professional-grade electrical testing and hand tools are all pretty much a given.
